Ascend Performance Materials

Ascend Performance Materials is expanding adiponitrile capacity by 220,000 metric tons per year at its Decatur, Alabama plant, with projects to be completed by 2022. A 50,000-ton expansion was completed in 2017, another 40,000 tons starts by end of 2018, and a final 180,000-ton project will follow.

Ascend Performance Materials plans to increase production capacity of adiponitrile, hexamethylene diamine, adipic acid and polymers by 10 to 15 percent through 2018 to meet growing demand.

Ascend Performance Materials unveiled a $6.2 million expansion at its Greenwood campus, adding 24 million pounds of staple fiber production and creating 27 jobs.
