Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) reached financial closing on the CPV Three Rivers Energy Center, a 1,250-MW combined cycle gas-fired power plant in Grundy County, Illinois, representing over $1.3 billion in investment. Construction will begin soon with commercial operation expected in 2023.

Calpine Corp acquired a 25% stake in the 615 MW Russell City Energy Center, a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant in Hayward, California, from GE Energy Financial Services.

GE Energy Financial Services secured USD 150 million project financing to refinance and expand the Los Guindos open-cycle thermoelectric power plant in Chile. The expansion will nearly double capacity to 275 MW by installing a second GE 9E.03 gas turbine.

GE Energy Financial Services and YPF Energía Eléctrica secured nearly $220 million in project financing for two thermal power plants in Argentina, the 267MW Tucumán and 107MW Loma Campana II projects, with construction over halfway complete.
