Cypress Semiconductor and SK hynix system ic closed their joint venture transaction, forming SkyHigh Memory Limited based in Hong Kong. SkyHigh Memory will manufacture and supply NAND memory solutions for consumer, networking, industrial, and automotive markets.

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. entered into a joint venture with SK hynix system ic, Inc. to manufacture and sell Cypress' SLC NAND products. The joint venture will be 60% owned by SK hynix system ic and 40% by Cypress, based in Hong Kong, and is expected to launch in Q1 2019.

Cypress Semiconductor Corporation entered into a joint venture agreement with SK hynix system ic Inc. to develop, manufacture, sell and distribute NAND products using Large Scale NAND Wafers supplied by SK hynix. The joint venture has an initial term of five years.

SK hynix System IC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SK hynix, will establish a joint venture with Wuxi Industrial Development Group to build a new 200 mm wafer analog foundry production line in Wuxi, China. Construction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019.

SK Hynix System IC will absorb its affiliate Silicon File on February 28, 2018, to strengthen semiconductor foundry capabilities and improve management efficiency.

SK Hynix Inc. announced the spinoff of its foundry business into a new wholly owned subsidiary, SK Hynix System IC, which will start operations on June 30, 2017 in Cheongju, South Korea, with an initial capital of 343.3 billion won ($306 million) and about 1,300 employees.
