MDU Resources' subsidiary Knife River Corp. closed the acquisition of Sweetman Construction Co., which operates as Concrete Materials Co., an integrated ready mixed, aggregates and asphalt producer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The company and its 260 employees join Knife River's North Central Region.

MDU Resources Group Inc. acquired Sioux Falls-based Sweetman Construction Co., which does business as Concrete Materials Co. The company will become part of Knife River Corp., MDU Resources' construction materials subsidiary. The acquisition includes 260 employees, aggregate reserves, asphalt plants, ready-mix plants, and a railroad.

TCC Materials' Amcon Concrete Products business acquired block plants in Harrisburg, South Dakota, and Worthington, Minnesota, from Sweetman Construction Co., dba Concrete Materials.
