Hempel

Hempel (Haihong Laoren) held a groundbreaking ceremony on 18 May 2020 for a relocated and expanded paint plant in Yantai Chemical Industry Park. The $100 million investment will produce 102,000 tons of environmentally friendly coatings per year, with completion expected in Q4 2021.

Hempel purchased 65% of J.W. Ostendorf, a German paint manufacturer specializing in architectural coatings.

Silversea appointed Hempel to deliver coating solutions, including Hempaguard X7, for its newbuild cruise ship Silver Muse built at Fincantieri shipyard. The vessel was delivered on April 3, 2017.

Global coatings supplier Hempel inaugurated a new factory in Mina Abdullah, Kuwait on March 23, 2017.
