Capital Power announced an agreement to sell its 50% share of Keephills 3 to TransAlta and acquire TransAlta's 50% share of Genesee 3, gaining full control of the Genesee site. Net cost is $10 million.

Capital Power Corporation agreed to acquire 100% of the ownership interests in Arlington Valley, LLC, which owns a 580 MW combined cycle natural gas generation facility in Arizona, from Oaktree Capital Management for US$300 million. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2018.

Capital Power Corporation has entered into an agreement to acquire Decatur Power Holdings, LLC, which owns the 795 MW Decatur Energy Center natural gas-fired power plant in Decatur, Alabama, from an affiliate of LS Power for US$441 million.

Capital Power Corporation agreed to acquire Veresen Inc.'s thermal power business, including two gas-fired generation facilities in Ontario and two waste heat assets in British Columbia, for $500 million.
