Voltas and Ardutch (Arcelik subsidiary) agreed to establish a $100 million equity joint venture in India to manufacture and sell consumer durables such as refrigerators and washing machines, with plans to set up a manufacturing facility.

Arçelik and LG Electronics will begin producing commercial air conditioners under their joint venture Arçelik-LG Klima Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ. They will invest in the commercial air conditioning sector and start VRF air conditioner production in Turkey.

Arçelik and LG will invest an additional $57 million in their joint venture factory in Kocaeli, Turkey, extending their agreement to 2023.

Beko Plc officially opened its first R&D centre in Cambridge, UK, on December 13, 2016. The centre will focus on intelligent product technologies, advanced materials and progressive manufacturing for home appliances.
