Bausch & Lomb will invest €90 million in its Waterford, Ireland plant to increase capacity for Biotrue ONEday contact lenses, creating 130 new jobs. New production lines are expected to come on stream in 2023.

Bausch & Lomb will invest 30 million euros to expand its eye drop production facility in Aubenas, France, doubling annual capacity to 200 million units by 2024. The expansion includes two new cleanroom workshops and packaging lines.

Bausch and Lomb signed a two-year electricity and gas deal with Bord Gáis Energy worth several million euros, including a 3.3 MW combined heat and power unit at its Waterford facility. The CHP has been running since May 2016 and is expected to save €1M per year.
