Elekta

ViewRay announced plans to collaborate with Medtronic and Elekta on clinical studies of its MRIdian MR-guided radiation therapy system. Elekta committed to investing up to $36 million for a 9.9% stake, and Medtronic will take an undisclosed stake.

AB Motala Verkstad and Elekta Instrument AB have extended their agreement for production of Elekta's Leksell Gamma Knife Icon for five more years. Motala Verkstad handles procurement, production and assembly of the finished radiosurgery system.

Elekta acquired Canadian quality assurance company Acumyn for an undisclosed amount. Acumyn commercializes the Aqua software platform for radiotherapy QA.

Alliance Cancer Care acquired advanced treatment and software solutions from Elekta, including five Versa HD linear accelerators and Monaco treatment planning system, for its four sites in Huntsville and Decatur, Alabama.
