Guhring Ltd has installed a new nine-axis CNC grinding centre at its UK manufacturing facility in Birmingham for the production of special cutting tools, adding capacity to the existing 11 grinding centres.

Gühring Nederland has taken its renovated grinding department into use, doubling the number of grinding machines and employees. The facility can now produce new special tools in small series in addition to resharpening used tools.

Guhring officially opened its new 60,000 ft², £12 million manufacturing facility at Birmingham's Advanced Manufacturing Hub in June 2017. The facility has enabled increased staff numbers by 15% and manufacturing 50% of solid carbide and PCD product lines in the UK, up from 35%.
