Tarmac

Breedon Group has completed an asset swap with Tarmac, acquiring three quarries and a quarry with asphalt plant in exchange for 23 ready-mixed concrete plants and £6.1 million cash. The deal secures 25 million tonnes of additional mineral reserves and around 50,000 tonnes of annual asphalt capacity.

Tarmac's Contracting business was awarded a two-year, £30 million road-surfacing contract by Gloucestershire County Council. Tarmac will take over the contract in April 2018.

Tarmac acquired a new Caterpillar 6030 hydraulic mining shovel for its Mountsorrel quarry in Leicestershire, UK. The 300-tonne excavator is now fully operational and is the second such machine at the site.

DUO Manufacturing was awarded a contract by Tarmac to supply a Rail Unloading and Stockpiling Plant for Tarmac's concrete plant at Crossrail's Paddington New Yard site in London, valued at £13 million.
