Okuma has recently opened a dedicated technical centre in India to enhance technical support and after-sales service for local manufacturers.

Okuma's new factory in Yingge District, New Taipei City, Taiwan began operations in August 2018. The factory has a total floor area of 14,000 m2 and will increase production capacity from 200 to 300 units per month, a 1.5 times increase.

Okuma Corporation will build a new plant (K6) at its Kani facility in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, with an investment of approximately ¥10 billion. The plant will process parts for vertical and horizontal machining centers, increasing production capacity by 30%. Construction starts in August 2018 and operation begins in May 2019.

Okuma announced on July 18, 2018, it will invest approximately ¥10 billion to build two new buildings at its Kani plant in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, including a parts processing building, to increase machining center production capacity by 30%.

Pumori and Okuma started series production of CNC machine tools (Genos L300M) in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Investment is 4 billion rubles, with planned annual output of 120 machines by 2020.

Okuma Corporation opened its second state-of-the-art smart factory, Dream Site 2, at its headquarters in Oguchi-cho, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The €8 million investment further increases automation and efficiency for producing parts for small- and medium-sized lathes and grinders.

Okuma Corporation started production at its new headquarters factory Dream Site 2 (DS2) in Oguchi, Japan, enabling 24/7 production of parts for small and medium lathes and grinders. Investment was ten billion yen (about eight million euros) and the facility has 11,000 m² floor space.

Bromford Industries is installing nine Okuma MU-6300V mill-turn centres at its Birmingham factory, ordered through NCMT for £7 million. Seven machines are already installed, with two more due in Q4 2017.

Sandvik Coromant has installed an advanced automated Okuma Multus U3000 mill-turn machine with robot loading at its Gimo, Sweden factory to support on-demand flexible manufacturing of boring bars.
