Westlake Corporation agreed to acquire the global compounding solutions businesses of Portugal-based ACI/Perplastic Group, a maker of PVC, polyolefin, silicone and thermoplastic rubber compounds with four plants, with closing expected in early 2026.

Intraplás, a Portuguese sustainable dairy packaging maker, invested more than €15 million between 2023 and 2024 in new PET and PS extrusion and IML-T packaging lines in Santo Tirso. The investment created more than 20 direct and indirect jobs.

Maire Tecnimont subsidiary Tecnimont won a lump-sum turnkey contract from Repsol worth about €430 million to build polypropylene and linear polyethylene units at Repsol's Sines complex in Portugal, due for completion by 2025.
