Grupo Nutresa has asked Colombia's competition authority, the SIC, to pre-clear its purchase of 100% of Empaques Industriales de Colombia (Empicolsa), a corrugated box maker. The seller is Chilean parent Sur Papel SpA, which would make a full exit. The deal is to close once the SIC grants Phase I clearance.

Albéa Group announced an agreement to acquire Amfora Packaging, based in Bogotá with operations in Colombia and Peru, to expand its Latin American presence in beauty and personal care packaging.
