Albéa Group announced an agreement to acquire Amfora Packaging, based in Bogotá with operations in Colombia and Peru, to expand its Latin American presence in beauty and personal care packaging.

ACON Investments agreed to sell its controlling interest in Colombian packaging company Amfora Packaging S.A.S. to Albéa Group. Terms were not disclosed.

Silgan Holdings has completed the acquisition of Albéa's pump manufacturing, metal conversion (Covit in Europe and the US) and Brazil operations. Albéa retains its tubes, rigid cosmetic packaging and beauty solutions businesses, and a transition services agreement was signed.

The US Federal Trade Commission has approved Silgan's $900 million purchase of the dispenser and tube business of French cosmetics packaging firm Albea, which Silgan expects to add $20 million in annual earnings.

Silgan Holdings signed a binding offer to acquire the dispensing business of Albea for $900 million, adding engineered pumps, sprayers and foam dispensing solutions for personal care. Completion is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected in the first half of 2020.

Packaging company Albéa is to open a new plant in Huai'an, China, which will manufacture metal tubes.

Albéa, a laminate tube maker, has acquired new Nilpeter FA flexo presses for its sites in India, Brazil and Poland. Most are installed, with the last installation ongoing in Brazil.

Albea acquired Innovative Beauty Group, a full-service beauty packaging and turnkey solutions provider with a presence in China and Europe. MP Corporate Finance was exclusive M&A advisor to the shareholders and founders.

Refresco announced that the European Commission and US and Chinese authorities cleared its sale to PAI Partners and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. Shareholders had until 19 March to offer their shares.
