A subsidiary of Shenzhen Bai Xing Long Creative Packaging, Shanxi Jiajiazhuang Bai Xing Long Creative Packaging, was selected as a candidate supplier for packaging materials such as boxes, cartons and handbags for Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenjiu Distillery. Switzerland-based SIG has finished building its second production plant in China, a site near its Suzhou Industrial Park plant. By 2024 it is expected to produce eight billion carton packs a year.

Ourgin announced a plan to invest about RMB 510 million in a two-piece can production project in Zaozhuang, Shandong, built in two phases. Phase one is expected to produce 800 million cans a year, and phase two adds another 800 million.

Shijiazhuang Guanling Packaging has opened a plant about 150km southwest of Beijing to make cans for infant formula. The line will eventually produce 75 million cans a year, with RMB 510 million in plant cost.

HCP Group acquired the remaining 50% stake in Hetian Packaging (Huai'an), making it a wholly owned subsidiary. Hetian is an aluminium parts forming and anodising factory in China that has supplied HCP since 2013.

Gaosen Packaging is constructing its fourth beverage can plant in China at Xinzheng in Henan province, invested at RMB350 million (US$50m). It plans trial production of two-piece beverage cans by the end of the year.

Tetra Pak will invest 700 million yuan ($98.9 million) to build a large intelligent closure facility in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, expected to be operational next year. The plant will produce DreamCap closures with an annual capacity of 10 billion caps.
