Valmet will deliver a new shipping carton paperboard production line, PM3, to Eren Paper's former UPM Shotton mill in Wales-UK, with about 650,000 tons annual capacity. Start-up is scheduled for Q2 2024; the order value was not disclosed.

Eren Paper, a subsidiary of Turkey's Modern Karton and Eren Holding, completed its acquisition of the Shotton Paper Mill in North Wales on 30 September 2021. Planned containerboard production is expected to make the UK a net exporter and create over 600 new jobs.
