Baowu Aluminium

The European Commission approved a joint venture between Baoshan Iron & Steel (Baosteel), Baowu Aluminium, and Kobe Steel (Kobelco) to produce automotive aluminium sheets in China. Kobelco will hold 50%, with Baosteel and Baowu Aluminium sharing the remainder. The venture will operate facilities in Tianjin and Henan province.

Kobe Steel has signed a joint venture agreement with Baowu Aluminum Technology Co., Ltd. to form a new company, Kobelco Baosteel Automotive Aluminum Rolled Products Co., Ltd., integrating Kobe Steel's subsidiary in Tianjin with Baowu Aluminum's lines. The JV will manufacture and sell aluminum panels for automakers in China.
