Sumitomo Kenki

Sumitomo Kenki will establish a new factory within Sumitomo Heavy Industries' Yokosuka Manufacturing Center in Kanagawa, Japan, as its second domestic plant. The factory will produce large hydraulic excavators (35t+) and special application excavators, with phased operations starting June 2027.

Sumitomo Kenki announced it will build a new factory for excavators within the Yokosuka manufacturing site of parent company Sumitomo Heavy Industries, with a building area of 22,000 square meters, investment of about 6.5 billion yen, and planned production of 2,000 units per year, starting operations in August 2025.
