APM Terminals Maasvlakte II partnered with Konecranes for an Automated Horizontal Transport System, including up to 71 Lift AGVs, a third battery exchange station, and simulation software, as part of its expansion to double terminal capacity by 2027.

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II B.V. selected Konecranes to supply an Automated Horizontal Transport System, including 71 battery-powered Lift AGVs, TEAMS ECS extension, a Third Battery Exchange Station, and CONTROLS Emulation software, to support doubling its Rotterdam terminal capacity. The order was booked in Q3 2024, with delivery and commissioning expected to begin in 2025.

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II signed a contract with Austrian crane manufacturer Kuenz for 62 Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes, its largest crane order in Europe.

ABB and Kuenz have secured a contract to deliver 62 automatic stacking cranes and one intermodal yard crane for the phase 2 expansion of APM Terminals Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The order is the largest single order of automatic stacking cranes ever made by a European terminal.
