Pixelle Specialty Solutions

Valmet designed, manufactured and installed a FANUC M-900iB/360 robot arm to clean recovery boiler smelt spouts at Pixelle's Spring Grove, Pennsylvania facility, the first such deployment in North America for the pulp and paper industry.

JGT2 Redevelopment LLC, a joint venture of New Mill Capital Holdings, Infinity Asset Solutions and Camjay LLC, has acquired the assets of Pixelle Specialty Solutions in Jay, Maine, including the paper mill site, equipment and cogeneration power plant. The new owners plan to repurpose the site for alternative industrial uses and energy projects.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions has invested US$1.4 million to install a Valmet smelt spout robot at its Spring Grove, Pennsylvania facility, the first such installation in North America, to improve safety and productivity.
