Swiss specialty chemicals firm Clariant completed the $810 million acquisition of Canada-based ingredients and cosmetics maker Lucas Meyer Cosmetics from International Flavors & Fragrances.

IFF has invested in high-moisture extrusion (HME) technology from Coperion, installing three HME systems at innovation hubs in Europe, the United States, and Singapore to develop plant-based meat alternatives with improved texture.

IFF invested $87 million in its newly extended flavors manufacturing facility in Karawang, Indonesia, which is now the company's largest manufacturing facility in Greater Asia. The facility first started operations in 2015.
