Wootzano

Robotics firm Wootzano is moving from its County Durham base to a 14,000 sqft facility at Cobalt Business Park on Tyneside to accommodate growth. The move was announced in June 2024.

Wootzano has secured a £161 million supply deal with Xcela Inc to supply over 2,000 robots for packing tomatoes in Ontario, Canada. The deal spans five years, with first robots expected to land later in 2024.

VCI Global entered an agreement with Wootzano to become the exclusive distributor of Wootzano's Avarai robotic packing system in Malaysia, with minimum purchase commitments starting in 2024.

Wootzano Ltd closed a contract worth over £300 million with a leading UK pack-house conglomerate for its Avarai robotic system that handles, trims, weighs, evaluates quality, and packs delicate fruit. The contract was completed in April 2021.
