Samsung Engineering Co. agreed to buy a 24% stake in DNP Water, Vietnam's largest private water treatment company, for $41 million, becoming the second-largest shareholder. The investment aims to make Vietnam a base for its water treatment business in Southeast Asia.

Cosmo Foods will install a high-speed combismile filling machine from SIG at its plant in Komono, Japan, becoming the first company in Japan to use this technology. The machine will enable filling of beverages in carton packs with pieces, targeting on-the-go consumption.
