Nippon Paper Industries completed its $1.72 billion acquisition of the Orora Fibre Businesses, which were combined with Australian Paper to form Opal, Australasia's newest fibre packaging and paper company. The launch was announced on 1 May 2020.
Nippon Paper Industries signed an agreement to buy Orora Limited's paperboard packaging business in Australia and New Zealand, including the Botany paper mill, for an enterprise value of AUD 1.72 billion in cash.
