Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA)

Marubeni and TAQA signed a Water and Energy Conversion Agreement on September 15, 2021, to develop a greenfield cogeneration and desalination plant in Tanajib, Saudi Arabia, with a net capacity of 940 MW electricity, 1,084 tons/hour steam, and 19,470 m³/day desalinated water. The plant will supply Aramco's new oil and gas facilities under a 20-year build-own-operate-transfer contract.

Sojitz Corporation acquired a 20% stake in Mirfa International Power and Water Company, which operates a 1,600 MW natural gas-fired power plant and a 52.5 million imperial gallons per day desalination plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The plant has a 22-year PPA with Emirates Water and Electricity Company.
