International Cement Group

International Cement Korday has entered into a joint venture agreement to construct a 3500tpd dry process cement clinker production line in Jambyl, Kazakhstan. The investment is approximately US$150 million, and the plant will increase the group's annual cement capacity by 1.5Mta to 5.5Mta.

Sharcem, a subsidiary of International Cement Group, entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Kazakhcement and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan to acquire a cement plant and related assets for KZT7.07 billion (US$16.3 million). The acquisition is expected to increase the group's total cement capacity by 1 million tonnes per annum to 4 million tonnes per annum.
