Planet Innovation was awarded a manufacturing contract in mid-2023 to produce 1,000 diagnostic instruments per month for a global diagnostics client at its Irvine, California facility. The production line is already operational.

Planet Innovation and Lumos Diagnostics will open a new Covid-19 rapid antigen test production facility at PI's Melbourne factory, with full capacity of 50 million tests per year. The facility is expected to create 70 full-time jobs.

Planet Innovation acquired the North American operations of BIT Analytical Instruments GmbH, including a 29,000 ft² facility in Irvine, California. The acquisition more than doubles PI's medtech manufacturing capacity and is expected to contribute around AUD$25M to annual revenue.

Planet Innovation officially opened a new 1,000 m² medtech manufacturing wing in its Melbourne facility, capable of manufacturing single-use devices for regulated industries. The expansion is part of a plan to create hundreds of jobs and generate $1 billion in export revenue.
