Glass Futures to build £54m glass R&D centre in St Helens
Glass Futures secured planning permission for a 160,000 sq ft Global Centre of Excellence in St Helens, UK. Bowmer & Kirkland is the main contractor. The £54m facility will host R&D on decarbonising glass production, with construction starting July 2021 and completion by December 2022.

Bowmer & Kirkland selected for £54M glass research centre in St Helens
Bowmer & Kirkland has been appointed as stage 1 contractor for the construction of a £54 million Glass Futures centre of excellence for glass manufacturing on the former United Glassworks site in St Helens, UK. The 160,000 sq ft facility will include an experimental glass melting furnace and is subject to planning approval.
