Lion Elastomers

Lion Elastomers invested $22 million to construct a new multi-level production building with two finishing lines at its Geismar, Louisiana facility, increasing production capacity for EPDM rubber. Construction began in Q3 2021 and is in commissioning, with full production expected by end of 2022.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. is studying the feasibility of building a more than $1 billion methyl methacrylate manufacturing complex in Geismar, Louisiana, with a capacity of 350,000 tons per year. A final investment decision is expected by mid-2022, with initial operations as soon as 2025.
