Fujian Billion started up its new 2.5 million t/yr purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Quanzhou in Fujian province, China. The project cost 5.7 billion yuan ($882 million) and uses Invista's P8 technology.

Chemtex signs agreement with Loop Industries for PET plant technology
Chemtex signed an agreement with Loop Industries to license INVISTA's polymerization know-how for Infinite Loop manufacturing facilities that produce PET resin and polyester fiber from 100% recycled content. Chemtex will also provide engineering and design support.
