Papierfabrik Palm GmbH & Co KG completed its acquisition of five corrugated box and sheet mills from International Paper in France, Portugal and Spain. The closing was reported June 30, 2025, with completion expected by the end of Q2 2025.
Wellpappe Alzenau, part of Papierfabrik Palm, has begun ground surveys for a new corrugated board plant in the Alzenau-Nord industrial area, the first step of a project that also upgrades the existing city-centre site. The plant will consolidate the 250 employees of its Alzenau and Hasselroth-Gondsroth operations at one site.
Valmet will supply its 300th Valmet Paper Lab automated board and paper testing laboratory to Papierfabrik Palm's Aalen-Neukochen mill in Germany, with delivery during 2020. Valmet will also supply three Paper Labs in total to Palm sites and a containerboard machine at Aalen-Neukochen. The order value was not disclosed.
Valmet will supply a containerboard making line (PM 5) with mill-wide automation and services for Papierfabrik Palm's Aalen-Neukochen mill in Germany, with start-up scheduled for 2021; the order value was not disclosed.
