Beneco Packaging is investing $7 million to buy new automated equipment in Cobourg, Ontario, to expand its product line and speed up production, supported by C$500,000 from the Ontario government.
Sheen Legend Packaging received a C$2.5 million investment through the Jobs and Growth Fund for a new Cobourg, Ontario facility producing biodegradable plant-based packaging materials. The project will raise production capacity by 50%.
Beneco Packaging and SoOpak chose Heidelberg as equipment supplier for their new Scarborough facility, which will include a Speedmaster CX 102-6+L press, a Promatrix 106 CS diecutter and a Diana Easy folder gluer.
Beneco Packaging and its subsidiary SoOpak have opened a second facility in Scarborough, Ontario, which will be a design, manufacturing and finishing production house once fully operational.
