Liqui-Box

TriMas signed an agreement to acquire the Rapak brand, bag-in-box product lines and assets from Liqui-Box after Liqui-Box completes its purchase of DS Smith's Plastics Division, including facilities in Indianapolis, Union City and the Chicago area.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority found in its Phase 1 investigation that Liqui-Box's proposed takeover of DS Smith's rigid and flexible packaging business could reduce competition in Bag-in-Box packaging. The parties must address the concerns or face an in-depth Phase 2 investigation.

Liqui-Box acquired the Plastics division of DS Smith on March 6, 2019. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
