Packaging firm Coveris and UPM Raflatac will supply a recyclable label liner to UK food producer Cranswick, replacing PET release liner on cooked meat packs. The partners say the change cuts carbon emissions by 20%.
UPM Raflatac will invest EUR 13 million in Nowa Wieś, Poland, to add a linerless coating line and slitting and packing capacity, adding 100 million m2 of Direct Thermal linerless annual capacity, expected operational by end of 2021.
