North Star BlueScope Steel announced a $700 million expansion of its plant in Delta, Ohio, expected to increase steel coil production by 40%. The project is to be completed in 2022.

Danieli Centro Cranes will provide two EOT charging cranes with lifting capacity of 310/100/25 short tons to North Star BlueScope Steel in Delta, Ohio, USA. The first crane will be commissioned by July 2020 and the second by end of October 2020.

North Star BlueScope Steel has completed a $700 million expansion of its steelmaking operation in Delta, Ohio, increasing capacity to 3.3 million tons per year and creating 90 new jobs.

ANDRITZ received an order from North Star BlueScope Steel to supply a tunnel furnace and two shuttle furnaces for the Delta, Ohio plant. The shuttle furnaces will be installed in Q4 2020 and the tunnel furnace is scheduled to start production by end of 2021. The expansion will increase annual capacity by 800,000 to 900,000 metric tons.

SMS group has been awarded a contract to supply a thin-slab caster to North Star BlueScope Steel as part of a $700 million expansion of its Delta, Ohio, sheet mill. The caster will add 850,000 metric tons of annual capacity.
