Ecolab announced a $3.7 billion deal to acquire Purolite, a specialty ion exchange resin company, to expand its water treatment chemicals portfolio.

Ecolab announced the acquisition of ion-exchange resin producer Purolite for $3.7 billion. Purolite's technology enables purification of mRNA vaccines and monoclonal antibodies.

Purolite Ltd. commenced the authorization process for construction of a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant in Victoria, Romania, with an investment worth over USD 15 million. The company contracted Wabag for the project.

Purolite has started construction of a $15 million ultramodern wastewater treatment plant at its production facility in Victoria, Brasov, Romania. The plant is expected to be operational in 2020.
