ANDRITZ has received an order from ArcelorMittal Calvert to supply an annealing and coating line and a cold rolling mill for a new electrical steel production facility in Calvert, Alabama, USA. The facility will produce up to 150,000 tonnes of non-grain oriented electrical steel per year.

ArcelorMittal Calvert will secure DOE support to build an electrical steel manufacturing facility in Alabama, USA. The plant will produce 150,000 mt of non-grain-oriented electrical steel annually, creating up to 260 permanent jobs and 1,300 construction jobs.

The European Commission approved ArcelorMittal's plan to sell some European plants to secure final approval for its €1.8 billion acquisition of an Italian steel producer.
