Navitas Systems

East Penn Manufacturing Co. acquired a majority stake in Navitas Systems, a forklift battery maker. Terms were not disclosed. Navitas will continue to operate from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Navitas Systems LLC has secured a new 100,000 square foot building in Ann Arbor, Michigan, dedicated to production of its Starlifter lithium forklift batteries. The move will expand annual capacity to 5,000 Starlifters.

Voltabox AG has agreed to purchase all shares in Navitas Systems, a US manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems for intralogistics, for EUR 37 million. Navitas operates a 50,000 sq ft R&D and manufacturing centre in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and has a cell production capacity of 600,000 units per year.
