AV Dawson invested £1 million in a new rail-linked canopy at its Teesside freight terminal to support a multi-million pound contract with British Gypsum, part of Saint Gobain. The contract was signed in 2018 and created ten new jobs.

PD Ports signed a multi-million pound, five-year contract with British Gypsum to handle gypsum rock imports at Teesport, creating four new jobs. Shipments from Europe will arrive every two weeks and be stored in a new bulks warehousing facility, with trains running six days a week via the port's rail terminal.
