NextStar Energy

DS Actimo Canada Inc., a subsidiary of South Korea-based DSEV, is investing $60 million to build a new 107,000-square-foot facility in Windsor, Ontario, to manufacture components for electric vehicle batteries. The plant will be its first in North America and is expected to employ 96 people when it opens in September 2024.

LG Energy Solution will acquire full ownership of NextStar Energy, with Stellantis selling its 49% equity stake. NextStar Energy operates Canada's first large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario. More than $5 billion CAD has been invested to date.
