Ekran-Opticheskie Sistemy (EOS) launched Russia's first production line for gallium arsenide (GaAs) wafers in Novosibirsk, with an investment of 350 million rubles ($5.4 million). The facility has a capacity of 10,000 GaAs wafers per year.

Ekran-Opticheskie Sistemy, part of RATM Holding, plans to launch production of gallium arsenide (GaAs) wafers for electronics in Novosibirsk by 2019. The total investment is 2.8 billion rubles, with production ramping up to 3 billion rubles annually by 2024.
