Lynas Corporation is spending $14 million to expand processing capacity at its Mt Weld mine from 242,000 to 443,000 tonnes per year. Construction begins mid-March 2018 and is due for completion by mid-2018.

Lynas has reached a long-term agreement with Bosch to secure Bosch's rare earth needs for magnets used in its automotive business.
