Orsted

Norway's Aibel won a contract to build two HVDC converter platforms for Ørsted's Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea, which Heerema Marine Contractors will transport and install. Hitachi Energy will supply the converter systems. The announcement followed a Contract for Difference awarded to Ørsted on July 7, 2022.

Ljungstrom will manufacture steel foundation components for the Sunrise Wind offshore project at its Wellsville plant, with at least 100 jobs expected in Western New York; the wider $86 million supply contract went to Riggs Distler.

Siemens Gamesa has been awarded exclusivity by Orsted to supply and service SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines totaling 1,386 MW for the Hornsea Project Two wind farm 89 km off England, operational from 2022.
