Gulf Energy has entered into an agreement with General Electric (GE) for GE to acquire an equity stake in Gulf Energy's 1,050 MW Lamu coal-based power plant and to supply ultra-supercritical clean coal technology components and air quality control systems.

Gulf Energy SAOC opened the Fishing & Remedial Experts Enterprise (FREE) factory in Nizwa Industrial Area, Oman, to manufacture drilling and fishing tools for the oil and gas industry. PDO signed a 10-year contract as main customer, and the factory will create up to 70 Omani jobs.
