The Siemens-Türkerler-Kalyon consortium will commission a $100 million wind turbine factory in İzmir Aliağa Organized Industrial Zone by end of November 2019. The plant will produce 100 nacelle units annually, equivalent to 500 MW capacity, and create 500 jobs.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy signed an agreement to supply up to 1 GW of wind energy capacity in Turkey, including turbine supply, installation, commissioning, and 15 years of service. The agreement also includes construction of a nacelle factory and an R&D centre.
A consortium led by Siemens has won a tender to build Turkey's first wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,000 MW, as part of the YEKA renewable energy project. The consortium has 21 months to complete the installation.
