NASA selected FMI, a subsidiary of Spirit AeroSystems, for a contract to provide thermal protection systems for Mars Sample Return and Dragonfly missions. The contract has a maximum value of $24 million and runs from Jan 20, 2021 to Jan 19, 2026.

FMI, a subsidiary of Flexan Corporation, moved into new 6,500 m² headquarters in Chicago and constructed an ISO Class 7 clean room of 1,900 m², quadrupling production capacity for Class 2 and 3 medical device components.
