Ulsan Aluminum

Primetals Technologies received an order from South Korean aluminum producer Ulsan Aluminum to upgrade Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems at its 3-stand hot finishing mill in Ulsan, South Korea. Implementation is planned for October 2025.

Primetals Technologies received an order from Ulsan Aluminum Ltd. to supply new automation technology for its hot rolling mill and cold rolling mill no. 2 in Ulsan, Korea. The scope includes technological control systems, data acquisition, and commissioning.

Kobe Steel and Novelis Korea completed arrangements to establish Ulsan Aluminum, Ltd., a 50-50 joint venture in Ulsan, South Korea, to produce aluminum rolled products with a capacity of approximately 300,000 tons per year.

Novelis Inc. entered into a joint venture agreement with Kobe Steel, Ltd., selling 50% ownership in its Ulsan, South Korea facility for $315 million. The joint venture, Ulsan Aluminum, Ltd., will jointly own and operate the facility.
