Bombardier consortium wins Egyptian monorail deal with UKEF backing
A consortium led by Bombardier Transportation confirmed a deal with the Egyptian Government to build two monorails, backed by a £1.7 billion guarantee from UK Export Finance. Bombardier will invest in its Derby manufacturing centre to build the trains, supporting 100 UK jobs.

Siemens signs €8 billion contract for three power plants and wind farms in Egypt
Siemens signed an €8 billion contract with Egypt in 2015 for the construction of three combined-cycle power plants (4.8 GW each) and 12 wind farms. The first phase was inaugurated in March 2017, connecting 4.8 GW to the grid in 18 months.
