National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is planning to set up two joint ventures at the Angul Aluminium Park in Odisha: one with US-based Almex and another with Russia's Rusal. The JVs will manufacture special-grade aluminium for metro trains, e-vehicles, aerospace and automobile sectors. NALCO will hold a 40% stake in each JV.
KPEX, a subsidiary of Kobe Steel, awarded Almex a contract for an automatic-tilt reverberatory melting furnace and DC billet casting line for its new greenfield facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The plant will produce high-strength automotive aluminum extrusions.
